Sewing Machine Operator & Upholsterer - 1st Shift

Upholster chair seats and backs using foam padding, hand tools, power tools, glue, staples, and other equipment to create smooth, quality finishes. Measure and cut fabric and/or vinyl according to patterns and design specifications, apply spray glue to components, and ensure materials are installed without wrinkles or air pockets.

Monday – Friday 6 am – 4 pm | Friday OT as needed

Pay:
Starting at $18.00 per hour
Job Duties
Operate industrial sewing machines to produce finished seat, back, and headrest cushions by sewing seams, top-stitching, and joining sections of fabric or vinyl. Upholster chair seats and backs using foam padding, hand tools, power tools, glue, staples, and other equipment to create smooth, quality finishes. Measure and cut fabric and/or vinyl according to patterns and design specifications, apply spray glue to components, and ensure materials are installed without wrinkles or air pockets. Read and follow work orders, patterns, measurements, and quality standards. Use industrial steamers as needed for vinyl, crushed foam, and wrinkled fabric. Rotate through assembly processes to assist with light assembly of seating and chair components. Perform additional production duties as assigned.
Safety Requirements
Must be able to safely use sewing machines, hand tools, power tools, hydraulic presses, industrial steamers, and cutting equipment. Must wear appropriate safety glasses and required protective equipment, including a metal glove when operating a hand saw. Must be able to assist with heavy rolls of fabric and vinyl and perform repetitive standing, reaching, bending, twisting, and material handling throughout the shift. Ability to safely follow all company safety procedures is required. Advance Services has a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe work acts—safety violations could cost you more than your job.
