ServiceNow Platform Engineer/Application Developer

The ideal candidate is a senior-level ServiceNow engineer who can demonstrate hands-on custom development depth, explain how they have engineered scalable solutions on the platform, participate meaningfully in architecture discussions, and independently solve complex technical problems. The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering skills, custom application development experience, integration expertise, and the ability to design scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform.

WHAT WE DO:
We focus on providing delivery, staffing, and supported services such as enterprise integration/implementations including, but not limited to, CRM, EAM, ERP, PMO, and QA. We service clients in SLED (state/local gov't & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners.

Role: Senior ServiceNow Platform Engineer / Application Developer

Location / Work Model: Onsite Mon-Friday — Austin, TX

Duration: TBD and awaiting confirmation. Long-term engagement anticipated; candidates available for 12+ month assignments are preferred.

Overview

Seeking a senior ServiceNow engineer with deep custom development experience to support a strategic enterprise platform engineering initiative. This is not a configuration-focused role. The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering skills, custom application development experience, integration expertise, and the ability to design scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Custom Development

• Design and develop custom ServiceNow applications and platform capabilities.
• Build reusable platform components, services, and APIs.
• Develop custom Workspace experiences, widgets, and user interactions.
• Design scalable, maintainable, and upgrade-safe solutions.
• Support platform performance optimization and engineering best practices.

Integration & Solution Development

• Design and develop REST/API-based integrations.
• Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external platforms.
• Implement automation, orchestration, and workflow solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex platform, application, and integration issues.

Technical Delivery

• Develop high-quality JavaScript, Script Includes, Business Rules, Flow Designer solutions, and other advanced platform capabilities.
• Participate in architecture and solution-design discussions.
• Support code reviews, testing, deployments, and production-readiness activities.
• Apply sound development standards and engineering practices.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on ServiceNow engineering and development experience.
• Custom application development on the Now Platform.
• Advanced JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting.
• REST APIs and integration development.
• Workspace development and custom user experiences.
• ServiceNow platform engineering.
• Workflow automation and Flow Designer.
• Performance tuning, scalability, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing reusable custom components and solutions beyond out-of-the-box ServiceNow capabilities.
• Agile delivery experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building custom ServiceNow applications at enterprise scale.
• Experience in complex, highly integrated ServiceNow environments.
• Experience developing reusable platform services and components.
• Strong understanding of performance, scalability, maintainability, and platform engineering best practices.
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or equivalent certifications.
