ServiceNow Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow Application Developer to design, develop, configure, and deploy custom applications and capabilities across the ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow development, JavaScript scripting, workflow automation, system integrations, and user interface customization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom ServiceNow applications, including data models, user interfaces, and role-based access controls.

• Build scoped applications, Service Portal widgets, and automated workflows using JavaScript, Glide APIs, and Flow Designer.

• Configure and enhance ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management, along with ITOM and ITAM capabilities.

• Develop server-side and client-side scripts using JavaScript, GlideScript, Business Rules, UI Policies, and Script Includes.

• Create and maintain automated workflows, approval processes, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) using Flow Designer.

• Integrate ServiceNow with third-party enterprise systems and databases using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and IntegrationHub.

• Design and customize Service Portal pages, Service Catalogs, and workspaces using UI Builder.

• Follow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) standards to maintain accurate Configuration Item (CI) data and improve visibility.

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) using the Automated Test Framework (ATF).

• Support troubleshooting, debugging, performance improvements, and production deployments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of software development experience, including 1–3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow platform development.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and XML.

• Experience with ServiceNow application development, configuration, and scripting.

• Knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM modules.

• Hands-on experience with Glide APIs, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, and Flow Designer.

• Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and IntegrationHub.

• Familiarity with Service Portal, Service Catalogs, UI Builder, and custom application development.

• Understanding of CSDM, configuration management, and CI data quality.

• Experience with automated testing, including the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).

• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification in ITSM, ITOM, or ITAM.

• Experience developing and deploying custom scoped applications.

• Knowledge of ServiceNow platform best practices and application lifecycle management.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
