    Job Description

    Job Title: OE Service Technician

    Department: 09

    Reports To: Department Supervisor

    FLSA Status: Hourly Non-exempt

    Prepared By: Sue Bowen

    Summary: To oversee, organize, coordinate and perform production within the OE Service area.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Assist in PPAP sample build execution.

    2. Development of Standardized Work Instructions.

    3. Monitor control plans, SWI and routings for compliance.

    4. Assure quality products are produced to meet customer specifications.

    5. Be involved in direct labor, production work, (setup, operate and/or welding) 95% of the time.

    6. Be able to perform all production jobs in the OE Service area.

    7. Conduct and/or coordinate training of associates on OE equipment/processes.

    8. Organization and management of OE Service, equipment, tooling, fixturing and gauging.

    9. Provide daily update on operations to Supervisor.

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Database software.

    Current Setup Operator/Machine Operator

    Ability to use and interpret measuring and gauging devices

    Other Skills and Abilities

    Use of a computer

    Use of Lockout/Tagout program

    Program OE equipment

    Understand, follow & locate operator instructions

    Maintain work area

    Keep and maintain files

    Complete paperwork (tags, codes, forms, reports)

    EHS Requirements:

    While performing this position, the following are job specific safety requirements:

    While on the Manufacturing floor, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and safety shoes must be worn. With welding operations, full welding gear should be worn if exposed to welding flash, heat and sparks.

    Environmental aspects of this job would include propane use in the forktruck, exhaust from the gas powered trucks, using and disposing of paper and office supplies.
