    Description

    Under the direction of, and reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Technician works to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction by performing routing and preventative maintenance as well as repair work on welding and mechanical equipment from Central McGowan customers. 

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Performs routine preventative maintenance on location at customer facilities or at our service center in our St. Cloud location.
    • Disassemble welder.
    • Blow out equipment and inspect for hot or failing components.
    • Check drive rolls and drive roll tension.
    • Check feed system through gun; make sure wire is feeding properly without kinks.
    • Check for proper gas flow at the end of the gun.
    • Wipe down and clean exterior of welder.
    • Performs welder calibration and certification on location at customer facilities or at our service center in our St. Cloud location.
    • Verify welder meter reading to calibrated test equipment.
    • Perform resistance test to simulate weld.
    • Verify serial numbers and apply unit numbers for documentations purposes.
    • Perform wire feed speed calibration using a wire feed speed meter.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
    • Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records..
    • Order replacement parts by generating a non-stock TIMS delivery ticket.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Education, Experience and Certifications

    • High School degree or equivalent required.
    • Associates degree in electronics, mechatronics or similar field, preferred.
    • Experience in electronic repair, preferred.
    • Experience in welding and industrial equipment and/or field-related tasks preferred.

     Competencies:

    • High level of ethics, honesty, and transparency
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to CM2 operations.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be a good team-player, detail oriented and good at multi-tasking
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software, and standard business equipment (phone, computer, copier/scanner etc.).

    Work Conditions:

    The work environment is primarily indoors.  May have exposure to a variety of weather conditions when traveling outside of the workplace.
