    Service Technician

    Duration: Full-Time
    Location: Rockford, IL Area

    Aspen Technical Staffing is seeking a skilled Service Technician for a full-time opportunity with our client in the Rockford, Illinois area. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys travel, troubleshooting complex equipment, and providing exceptional customer support.

    This position offers extensive travel throughout North America, working directly with customers to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Travel to customer facilities for equipment installation, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
    • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues
    • Train customer personnel on proper machine operation and maintenance procedures
    • Provide technical support via phone and email
    • Complete detailed service reports and related documentation
    • Assist with machine testing and production support when working at the manufacturing facility
    • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to identify and resolve technical challenges
    • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach during all service activities
    Qualifications
    Required
    • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance, field service, or technical service experience
    • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
    • Experience working with PLCs, motors, drives, pneumatics, and industrial control systems
    • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout North America (80–100%)
    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage service assignments effectively
    Preferred
    • Experience in printing, converting, web handling, packaging, or other capital equipment industries
    • Experience with Rockwell Automation and RSLogix software
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics
    • Experience with ERP, CRM, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks software is a plus
