Express Employment Professionals is partnering with an established, well-respected window and door company in Grand Rapids, MI to hire an experienced Service Technician for a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
We're looking for someone with a strong hands-on background in residential window and door installation, service, or repair. The ideal candidate understands how these systems operate, has strong troubleshooting skills, and is comfortable working independently in customers' homes.
Travel to residential customer locations to diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair windows and doors.
Identify and resolve issues involving window and door operation, alignment, seals, glass, screens, locks, hinges, rollers, and other hardware.
Perform adjustments, component replacements, and repairs to restore proper functionality.
Work with a variety of residential window and door styles, including sliding, hinged, casement, and double-hung systems.
Complete approximately 5-8 service calls per day, primarily working independently.
Communicate directly with homeowners to explain service issues, repairs, and completed work.
Document service calls and repairs using a company-provided iPad.
$25-$32/hr, depending on experience.
Direct hire: Join the company's team from day one.
Monday-Friday schedule, starting at 7am and typically finishing between 3–5pm.
45-50 hours per week, with overtime opportunities.
Start and end your day at the company location.
Company-provided service van, gas card, tools, and equipment.
Paid travel time while servicing customers throughout West Michigan.
Hands-on training to learn the company's products and service procedures.
Independent, hands-on work with a variety of challenges each day.
Hands-on experience installing, servicing, or repairing residential windows and doors strongly preferred.
Experience as a Window Installer, Door Installer, Window/Door Service Technician, or Residential Glazier is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of window and door components, including frames, sashes, tracks, rollers, hinges, locks, seals, and operating hardware.
Ability to identify installation or operational issues and perform the necessary adjustments or repairs.
Proficiency using hand and power tools, taking accurate measurements, and completing detailed repair work.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
Experience working directly with homeowners and providing professional customer service.
Comfortable working on ladders, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
