    Ford in Newport News is ramping up for our busiest year yet…….and we need to add YOU to our location! We are adding several experienced Auto Service Techs to our Team. We are looking for the skills and experience that will continue making our shop run smoothly and efficiently. A minimum of two (2) years Automotive Line Tech experience is necessary. We will be reviewing applications immediately upon completion.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing
    • Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs
    • Repairs automobiles and light trucks as assigned
    • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
    • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
    • Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs efficiently by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
    • Follows all shop policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules
    • Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience
    • Two years of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred
    • ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certification)
    • Virginia State Inspection License (or is willing to obtain license)
    • Broad scope of automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge
    • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
    • Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
    • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
    • Highly professional and dependable
    • Safety and customer service-oriented
    • Basic computer and internet skills
    • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
