    Description

    Shoals Outdoor Sports is looking for a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team in Florence, Alabama.

    We are a high-volume powersports dealership serving customers throughout North Alabama, Southern Tennessee, and the surrounding region. Our Service Department stays busy, and we are looking for a technician who can bring mechanical ability, urgency, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic to the shop every day.

    This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking pride in completing repairs correctly and efficiently. Previous powersports experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience working with ATVs, UTVs/side-by-sides, motorcycles, marine products, or similar equipment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues on powersports equipment

    • Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, warranty work, and other service procedures

    • Complete new-unit setup, assembly, accessory installation, and pre-delivery inspections as needed

    • Accurately document repairs performed, parts used, diagnostic findings, and additional work recommendations

    • Complete assigned repair orders efficiently while maintaining high standards for workmanship

    • Communicate with Service Advisors and Service Management regarding repair status, additional concerns, and parts needs

    • Inspect units for additional safety, maintenance, or repair needs

    • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area

    • Properly use and care for dealership tools, equipment, and customer property

    • Follow manufacturer procedures, dealership processes, and applicable safety requirements

    • Participate in manufacturer training and continuing technical education as required

    • Work cooperatively with the Service, Parts, and Sales departments to keep work moving efficiently

    • Maintain a sense of urgency while ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous powersports, motorcycle, ATV/UTV, marine, automotive, small-engine, or related mechanical experience preferred

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability

    • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems

    • Ability to read and follow service manuals, technical information, and manufacturer repair procedures

    • Must be dependable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

    • Ability to manage multiple repair orders and maintain productivity throughout the workday

    • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

    • Must have or be willing to obtain the tools necessary to perform assigned work

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    • Must be able to meet the physical requirements associated with servicing and moving powersports equipment

    • Must be able to meet company pre-employment requirements
