Responsibilities
Receive repair orders from dispatchers and take to stall area
Perform routine maintenance/major repairs assigned with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership
Perform complete MPI and 27 point used care inspection
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair as authorized
Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed parts
Tag & save parts, turn in parts, if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer
Advise Service Advisor immediately if any additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be complete within promised time
Document & quality check work performed
Road-test vehicles to ensure repair has addressed customer complaint
Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
Ensure that work area and customers' vehicle are kept clean
Administer safety & housekeeping policies/procedures
Understand/follow federal/state/local regulation, governing service repair work
Qualifications
Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two-years of experience in an auto body repair facility, one-year of supervisory experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five-years automotive mechanical experience (preferred)
Must have diagnostic ability in chassis, drive & electrical
Must have own tools
Ability to read, analyze & interpret technical procedures
Ability to write reports, business correspondence & procedure manuals
Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs
Basic mathematical skills & reasoning ability
Customer service, computer & organizational skills
Current, valid driver's license & satisfactory MVR
