Overview:
We are looking for a mechanically experienced and enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in diesel engines, commercial marine industry, and industrial applications. This person will serve as a primary point of contact for commercial marine operators, helping manage service activity, support repair planning, and sell marine repair solutions while continuing to build technical knowledge of diesel engines and vessel applications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in commercial marine service by developing technical knowledge, customer support skills, and service sales experience over time.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate job status, description, and cost to customers; send repair estimates for approval.
- Secure payment for repairs per company policy.
- Assist Service Manager with Technician job assignments and oversee progress to completion.
- Ensure Technicians have necessary parts and supplies to complete job assignment.
- Ensure service performed is appropriate and in compliance with company safety and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain quality control throughout the process.
- Create final customer invoice with complete explanation and charges for work performed, and review invoice with customer.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with commercial marine operators and internal service teams
- Self-motivated, dependable, and mechanically inclined individual with a strong interest in learning diesel engine systems and marine repair operations
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and coworkers while helping support, coordinate, and sell commercial marine repair work
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask in fast paced environment with shifting priorities
- Ability to read and interpret technician writeups, understand mechanical repair information related to diesel engines, and clearly communicate recommended repairs to customers
- Demonstrated interest in growing into a larger role supporting commercial marine customers, expanding technical product knowledge, and helping drive service sales over time
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school graduate or GED
- Experience in diesel engines, commercial marine service, heavy equipment, or a related mechanical field preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right individual who is mechanically inclined and eager to learn how to manage, support, and sell marine repairs to commercial operators.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Basic computer navigation skills required.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Prior experience with ServicePro preferred
