Service Manager for Quality Assurance IRO Service - Children, Young People & Families Plymouth City Council

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Service Manager to help drive high quality practice and improved outcomes for children looked after. This is a key leadership role ensuring permanence for children and bringing in the Families First Partnership (FFP) reforms to ensure Kinship arrangements fully explored and support with the development of Kinship zones as set out in the FFP guidance.

You'll provide strong, visible leadership to a team of Independent Reviewing officers and QA Fostering officers, oversee complex decision making to support Multi Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) when required, and ensure services are safe, effective and delivered within budget. A Significant part of this role is holding accountability for the quality assurance of all work within the service area and supporting the broader QA of practice across children's services, including leading audits, observing practice, and championing a culture of reflection and high standards. As the role profile states, you will be "actively undertaking a range of quality assurance activities"

Working collaboratively with partners, you'll help shape service development, respond to emerging issues, and ensure the voices of children and families inform continuous improvement.
