Job description:
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:The primary responsibility for the Service Manager is the Supervision of the day-to-day activities of the Service Department. Provide direction to the departments' personnel and to promote the department's growth and development while maintaining profitability and keeping expenses within budget.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor schedule and dispatch work orders.
- Maintain acceptable levels of applied time.
- Primary contact for all service related phone calls and assist front counter phone calls as needed.
- Provide technical support for service related items from walk-in customers.
- Perform shop labor estimates and quote in-house repairs, and upon approval, purchase the necessary repair parts or replacement components and reschedule assembly time.
- Promote additional sales through repairs and field service, i.e. filters, P.M. programs, system upgrades, etc.
- Assist with overflow service work when necessary.
- Bill out shop and field service projects.
- Maintain quality control and professional appearance of all shop service work.
- Assist in training and development of service personnel.
- Promote teamwork attitude among service personnel and all other company employees.
- Provide assistance in development of sales strategies to penetrate new and existing markets.
- Maintain acceptable shop appearance.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:Fluid Power Degree or Equivalent Experience; Strong Mechanical Background; Hydraulic Background Preferred; Highly Motivated Self-starter; Excellent Customer Service & Communication Skills (verbal & written); Proficient with Planning and Organization.
