Service Manager

Alta Construction Group is seeking a full-time Service Manager for the Byron Center, MI branch. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

Supervise the operation of the service departmentFoster a positive customer and employee relations atmosphereReview & analyze department data meet sales and profit goalsProcess and review work orders, invoicing and customer quotesIncorporating Safety into daily activitiesPartner with Parts and Service Directors to ensure alignment with the company goals and performance metricsMonitor employee training progressOversee weekly payroll entry and audit for accuracyOutside purchase order acquisition and coordinationMonitor work in progressResponsible for condition of service vehicles and facilityIncorporates Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activitiesPerforms other duties as assigned

Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

2-4 years of previous management experience preferredDealership experience is highly preferredGood mechanical aptitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood customer relations and people skillsAbility to successfully manage othersComputer Skills- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Business Intelligence (BI); Fleetmatics, Paytrace, Concur, and ExtendLanguage Skills- Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Reasoning Ability- High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Mathematical Skills- Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
