Hunton Services a division of the Hunton Group is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Estimator to join our Service Operations team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will develop comprehensive turnkey estimates for HVAC mechanical service projects across institutional, industrial, education, and commercial markets.

Responsibilities
• Review and interpret scopes of work and specifications in collaboration with Service Technicians, Sales, and Management for projects ranging from quick turn repairs to budget planning initiatives. • Analyze technician diagnostic notes to fully understand proposed work, including parts, subcontractors, model, and serial numbers, and labor requirements. • Evaluate schedules, sequencing, and non-standard work conditions, and recommend cost-effective solutions. • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, risk management protocols, and project-specific standards. • Develop detailed, accurate estimates, including material, labor, subcontractor, and equipment breakdowns, using web-based estimating platforms. • Manage the quote process from initial documentation through job setup and turnover. • Prepare professional proposals, cost summaries, and support documentation. • Identify customer needs and collaborate with Area Service Managers to deliver effective value-driven solutions. • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to build and maintain strong working relationships. • Coordinate and respond to change orders and evolving project requirements. • Track multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in HVAC or a related mechanical contracting field. Preferred experience in HVAC estimating, particularly within service-related projects. Strong ability to interpret technical service documentation and diagnostic information. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe, and online sourcing platforms. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented mindset. Effective communication skills with the ability to build and manage customer relationships. Ability to thrive in a collaborative team-oriented environment. High level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
Work Environment
This position will initially be based at our temporary Reed Road location with a future transition to our Luce Street office.
