"Service Electrician" Role Overview:
We are launching a brand-new line of business providing residential electrical services and are looking for highly skilled Service Electricians for our Phoenix pilot program. As a Service Electrician, you will be the go-to expert for major electrical issues in customers' homes, handling everything from on-the-spot fixes to comprehensive installations. This role requires a self-starter who can diagnose problems, execute high-quality technical work, and communicate clearly and patiently with homeowners.
Job Responsibilities:
Respond to residential service calls to diagnose and fix major electrical issues on-site
Safely perform Main Panel Upgrades (MPUs) and manage service electrical fittings and terminations.
Install generators and electric vehicle (EV) chargers
Assist with roofing services as they relate to overarching electrical or panel projects
Communicate directly with homeowners to clearly explain technical problems, outline solutions, and ensure a positive customer experience
Work independently with minimal supervision to solve problems quickly and efficiently
Ensure that the work is performed in a professional and workmanlike manner to conform to existing national and local building codes
Work cooperatively with team members to complete electrical residential services.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues
Work with branch team and homeowners to fulfill any necessary system repairs to support electrical residential services
Interface with branch leadership to ensure compliance with electrician / labor ratios and continuing education requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent, or Technical/trade school training in solar or electrical systems is preferred.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in service electrical work at a Journeyman level.
Excellent customer service and communication skills; must be patient and goal-oriented., Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
Fast problem-solving abilities in dynamic environments.
Must maintain a clean and valid driver's license
No prior solar experience is required for this role.
Working knowledge of current NEC, local building and green book codes
Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels
Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelines
Must be experienced with all required hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade
Ability to interact with co-workers and participate in meetings
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to complete work as scheduled
Physical Requirements:
Varying schedules that will include daytime shifts, on-call rotations, and potential work on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Overtime will be required based on business needs.
Candidates must be able to commute on a daily basis.
Travel is required, typically within a 15-mile radius of the office, and a company vehicle will be provided.
Must be comfortable working from ladders and at heights
Ability to work safely in a branch/warehouse/field rooftop environment
