About International Sport Motors

International Sport Motors is seeking an Automotive Service Advisor for its established collision and mechanical repair facility in San Francisco, CA. This customer-facing role focuses on mechanical repair customers, including estimate presentation, repair communication, follow-up, scheduling, and retention. Base pay is $30-$40 per hour with commission/bonus opportunities based on monthly sales or gross profit. The shop offers a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends, 100% employer-paid medical insurance, and a family-owned environment backed by nearly 50 years of success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the customer experience from vehicle check-in through completed repair and vehicle delivery.
  • Prepare, review, and present mechanical repair and maintenance estimates.
  • Explain technician findings, vehicle inspection results, and recommended repairs clearly to customers.
  • Maintain consistent customer communication throughout the repair process and follow up on estimates and previously declined services.
  • Proactively schedule future maintenance and recommended repairs to support customer retention and repeat business.
  • Coordinate with technicians to maintain an organized workflow and ensure repair recommendations are properly estimated and presented.
  • Manage mechanical inspection opportunities generated through the collision department and convert incoming phone and online leads into appointments.
  • Maintain accurate customer and repair-order documentation while working toward established processes, KPIs, and performance goals.

Qualifications

  • Previous 3-5 years of automotive Service Advisor experience preferred.
  • Previous collision/mechanical experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain repair and maintenance recommendations clearly.
  • Comfortable presenting and selling legitimate automotive repair and maintenance recommendations.
  • Basic understanding of automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through while managing multiple customers and repair orders.
  • Comfortable using shop-management software and other computer-based systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians and management.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay of $30-$40 per hour.
  • Commission/bonus opportunities based on monthly sales or gross profit.
  • Target total compensation of approximately $90,000-$120,000+ annually.
