Server Systems Engineer

Hours: 32 hours per week

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Server Systems Engineer for a large enterprise client in the Dublin, CA area, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in Windows Server infrastructure, Hyper-V virtualization, and HPE hardware platforms looking to further their career in enterprise datacenter engineering.

• Windows Server 2025 architecture, engineering, and implementation
• Microsoft Hyper-V design, deployment, and optimization
• Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) architecture and deployment
• Microsoft SCVMM administration and engineering
• Windows clustering and high-availability solutions
• Server standards development based on application and workload requirements
• Deployment and lifecycle management of HPE ProLiant Rack and Blade Systems
• HPE iLO configuration, management, and troubleshooting
• HPE OneView administration including Server Profiles, Networking, and Storage
• Infrastructure assessments, documentation, knowledge transfer, and best practices

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of enterprise server infrastructure engineering experience
• 5+ years of Microsoft Hyper-V engineering experience
• Expertise in Windows Server 2025 environments
• Experience with Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) and SCVMM
• Hands-on HPE ProLiant Rack and Blade server deployment experience
• Proficiency with HPE OneView and iLO
• Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to gather technical and business requirements from client stakeholders
• Self-directed and task-oriented; able to prepare daily status reports (accomplishments, next-day plans, blockers)

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Azure HCI or hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with enterprise storage platforms (Nimble, NetApp, Dell EqualLogic)
• Background in disaster recovery design using Zerto, Veeam, or Azure Site Recovery
