The ByteDance Server Operations Team is responsible for the full lifecycle operation management and operation technical services of ByteDance's massive server fleet, delivering industry-leading server operation and maintenance services to businesses to ensure and drive their stable growth.
Its job responsibilities cover areas including server operation management, stability operation management, data center server operation and maintenance management, maintenance and repair, as well as the planning and development of operational process specifications and platform systems:
- Responsible for the stability assurance services of online servers, planning and constructing stability process specifications, platform systems, assurance mechanisms and capabilities, in charge of the stability monitoring, stability risk identification, problem response and handling as well as assurance measures for the production network operation, so as to ensure the stable and sound operation of services.
- Responsible for handling server-related stability faults, including fault location and analysis, fault tracking and loss control, and fault review.
- Responsible for identifying server stability risks, including the identification and governance of risks in areas such as server quality, operation and maintenance processes, and platform systems.
- Responsible for server alert monitoring and handling, as well as the management of front-line BPO staff on duty, duty record summarization, and weekly report compilation, etc.
- Participate in the development of server stability-related capabilities, including the development of rapid recovery capabilities, drill capabilities, GUI-based operation of change capabilities, and major event support capabilities, etc.
- Participated in formulating process specifications related to server stability, and promoted upstream and downstream business parties to complete the formulation and alignment of relevant service SLOs.
- Participate in the optimization of server monitoring and alerting, further advance the long-term governance of monitoring capabilities, and improve the quality of monitoring alerts and event analysis.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in science and engineering, with priority given to computer science, electronic information engineering, automation and other related majors;
- Strong communication and coordination skills, good at thinking and summarizing, and proficient in document writing;
- Strong sense of responsibility, meticulous and conscientious, passionate about work and team-spirited; strong learning ability, full of enthusiasm and curiosity for new technologies, with outstanding problem-solving and hands-on capabilities; strong resilience to fast paced environments and distractions, and able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and diverse work tasks;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have a solid foundation in computer programming, and be proficient in at least one programming language, including but not limited to: Java, C, C++, Python, Go;
- Have knowledge of server hardware and Linux systems, and be proficient in Shell scripting.
