Overview of Role
The Restaurant Server is responsible for creating exceptional dining experiences by delivering warm, attentive, and personalized service to every guest who visits Bonton Farms. More than simply taking orders, this role serves as an ambassador of our mission, helping guests feel welcomed while providing knowledgeable recommendations, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring every visit reflects our commitment to hospitality, excellence, and community.
The ideal candidate is friendly, energetic, service-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. They genuinely enjoy caring for people, work well as part of a team, and understand that outstanding hospitality creates lasting relationships with our guests.
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Welcome every guest promptly with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
- Create a positive dining experience from arrival through departure.
- Build rapport with guests and anticipate their needs throughout the dining experience.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the menu, seasonal offerings, daily specials, and featured products.
- Make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate concerns to leadership when appropriate.

Food & Beverage Service
- Accurately enter guest orders into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Coordinate with kitchen and café staff to ensure timely and accurate order preparation.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly while maintaining presentation standards.
- Monitor guest tables throughout service, proactively refilling beverages and responding to requests.
- Present checks, process payments accurately, and thank guests for supporting Bonton Farms.
Dining Room Operations
- Prepare dining areas before service by ensuring tables, seating, condiments, utensils, and service stations are clean and fully stocked.
- Reset and sanitize tables promptly after each guest.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining room during each shift.
- Assist with side work including rolling silverware, stocking service supplies, polishing equipment, and maintaining beverage stations.
- Support dishwashing and other operational tasks during slower business periods or as directed by leadership.
- Ensure restrooms remain clean, stocked, and guest-ready throughout the day.
Teamwork & Operational Support
- Work collaboratively with kitchen, barista, market, and catering teams to ensure seamless guest service.
- Support fellow team members during busy periods to maintain efficient operations.
- Assist with special events, catering service, and community gatherings as assigned.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
- Maintain compliance with all alcohol service regulations and age verification procedures when applicable.
- Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities accurately and on time.
- Step into operational support roles, including table bussing, food running, and other front-of-house responsibilities, as needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Support fellow team members during busy service periods with a team-first mindset.

Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, café, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately process payments.
- Experience operating a POS system is preferred.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and accountability.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and carry trays, food, beverages, and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and carry items throughout the restaurant.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.

People here experienced higher rates of diabetes, stroke and cancer, and 48% of residents lived in poverty.
