COUNTY OF BUCKS\n \nJOB TITLE:\n \nSergeant of Security\n \nJOB CODE:\n \n0673\n \nDEPARTMENT:\n \nSecurity \n \nUNION:\n \n00\n \nFLSA STATUS:\n \nNon-Exempt\n \nGRADE:\n \nPOSITION SUMMARY: \n \nSupervises Peace Officers in the Security Department at the Administration Building, Justice Center, Neshaminy Manor Complex, Lower Bucks Government Service Center Complex and all Magisterial District Courts as assigned. Supervises and is responsible for the safety and protection of any individual within patrol areas.\n \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n Supervises, coordinates and corrects general security duties performed. Schedules Peace Officers duty tours\n Responsible for welfare and safety of County employees and visitors.\n Ensures all Peace Officers are on duty per schedule; inspects them for appearance.\n Responsible for Peace Officer Trainee hiring process.\n Responsible for all disciplinary actions as needed.\n Assigns Peace Officers to various posts throughout the responsible areas.\n Frequently makes rounds of areas of responsibility to ensure proper coverage, observe Peace Officers performance and routine operations\n Supervises protection and security of County property and equipment from damage or theft.\n Reports fires, safety hazards and illegal activities of persons on County property and takes necessary measures to correct.\n Supervises detention of persons causing physical damage to an individual or County property.\n Ensures that materials or equipment are not moved illegally.\n Provides emergency assistance to people needing help and those requiring the services of governmental agencies in an effective and efficient manner.\n Supervises and promotes positive work environment for pleasant attitudes of citizens toward governmental agencies.\n Reports unusual conditions or questionable items to the Director/Lieutenant.\n Performs similar or related duties as required.\n \nQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:\n \nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
