Our client, a leading innovator in autonomous vehicle technology, is seeking a Validation Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Validation Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Sensor System Validation team supporting next-generation vehicle platforms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, collaborative spirit, and a passion for advancing automotive safety and performance, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Sensor System Validation Engineer

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $70-$75/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

  • Contribute to sensor systems (lidar / camera / radar) verification and validation (V&V) activities for next-generation vehicle platforms.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, and sensor hardware engineers to develop and refine V&V methodologies for advanced sensor architectures.
  • Design and execute test plans in simulation environments to verify sensing system requirements and validate system-level performance.
  • Translate bounding scenario requirements into actionable data mining plans and execute these plans to generate validation datasets.
  • Integrate and orchestrate software pipelines to convert sensor data into meaningful system-level KPIs.

What's Needed?

  • A Ph.D. degree in relevant fields OR a master's degree in engineering with 3+ years of experience in sensor/perception systems development and/or testing.
  • Familiarity with at least one sensor modality: camera, lidar, or radar.
  • Experience with Data Mining tools and languages such as SQL, PySpark, Scala, or similar.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data using Python or other high-level languages like Matlab or C++.
  • Experience working and communicating effectively in collaborative environments.
