Our client is looking for an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to join their growing Texas claims team. This position is ideal for a claims professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background handling Texas Workers' Compensation lost-time claims from initial intake through final resolution. The successful candidate will possess excellent claim management skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients, injured workers, and business partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of moderate to complex Texas Workers' Compensation claims throughout the entire claim lifecycle
Investigate claims, evaluate compensability, and develop strategic action plans to achieve favorable claim outcomes
Coordinate and oversee medical treatment while promoting timely and successful return-to-work initiatives
Maintain proactive communication with injured workers, employers, attorneys, medical providers, and other stakeholders
Establish and adjust claim reserves based on exposure evaluations and claim developments
Direct litigated claims by partnering with defense counsel and monitoring case strategy through resolution
Negotiate settlements within designated authority levels and recommend resolutions when appropriate
Qualifications
5+ years of Texas Workers' Compensation lost-time claims experience
Strong knowledge of Texas Workers' Compensation statutes, rules, and claims handling procedures
Active Texas Adjuster's License required
Previous experience managing litigated Workers' Compensation claims
Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ranging from $80,000 to $95,000, depending on experience
