Essential Skills:

We are seeking experienced Senior WordPress Developers to tackle the most complex technical challenges in Hiltons Client re-platforming initiative. As a senior member of the development team, you''ll architect and build sophisticated WordPress plugins, develop advanced Gutenberg blocks with complex data interactions, and lead the technical implementation of high-priority features across multiple application migrations. This role requires deep WordPress Multi-Site expertise, advanced React/Gutenberg skills, and the ability to work independently on complex problems while mentoring mid-level and junior developers. You''ll collaborate closely with the Technical Lead on architectural decisions, implement critical integrations with external systems, and ensure code quality through comprehensive testing and peer review. The ideal candidate combines technical excellence with strong communication skills and thrives in a collaborative, AI-augmented development environment.

Role Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Complex Development (50%):

• Develop high-complexity WordPress plugins and features • Build advanced Gutenberg blocks with complex interactions • Implement critical integrations with external systems (Hilton Restful APIs) • Optimize performance-critical code paths• Resolve high-priority complex tickets

Technical Leadership (20%):

• Mentor mid-level and junior developers • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance • Participate in architecture decisions with Technical Lead • Establish coding standards and best practices • Lead technical discussions and problem-solving sessions

Migration & Integration (20%):

• Lead data migration efforts from .NET/MSSQL to WordPress/MySQL • Design and implement integration adapters for external systems • Ensure data integrity and validation during migrations • Build migration tools and automation scripts

Quality & Documentation (10%):

• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests • Document complex features and architectural decisions • Participate in sprint planning and estimation• Collaborate with QA Lead on testing strategies

Success Metrics

• Complexity Handling: Successfully deliver high-complexity tickets on time • Code Quality: 90%+ code coverage, zero critical vulnerabilities • Mentorship: Mid-level developers demonstrate skill improvement • Technical Leadership: Positive peer reviews and effective collaboration
