    Description

    Senior Wire Harness Applications Engineer

At Prysmian, we connect the world. As the global leader in energy and telecom cable systems, we manufacture thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables every year for power transmission and distribution, and deliver optical fibers, copper cables, and connectivity for voice, video, and data. With 30,000 teammates in 50+ countries, your work here helps transform critical infrastructure everywhere.

    A day in this role

You start your morning with a new customer drawing in your inbox. You interpret the specifications, ask sharp questions, and translate requirements into a complete Bill of Material (BOM) for a quotation package. Before lunch, you’re partnering with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service to align on a solution that fits performance, timing, and cost. In the afternoon, you review and document an Engineering Change Notice (ECN), then walk the shop floor to ensure manufacturing is ready for a product launch. Along the way, you act as the technical bridge between the customer and our plants, keeping quality high and costs lean.

    What you will own

    • Translate customer drawings, specifications, and technical documents into manufacturable solutions and new products.
    • Create and maintain complete BOMs for quotes and production releases.
    • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service to deliver technical guidance and product expertise.
    • Drive engineering change management: review, document, and implement ECNs.
    • Serve as the technical liaison between customers and internal manufacturing.
    • Maintain and enhance existing product portfolios through updates, improvements, and support.
    • Lead Design-to-Cost efforts to improve competitiveness without sacrificing performance or quality.
    • Advance simplification, sustainability, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
    • Analyze customer needs and recommend solutions aligned with Prysmian capabilities.
    • Support product launches with engineering documentation, system setup, and manufacturing implementation.

    About you

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
    • Fluent interpreting drawings/specifications; SolidWorks preferred.
    • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and engineered products such as wire and cable products or harness assemblies.
    • Hands-on with ECNs and BOM creation/maintenance.
    • Comfortable in ERP, PLM, or product data management systems.
    • Experienced working directly with customers to resolve issues and support applications.
    • Bilingual preferred (Spanish).

    Tools and tech

SolidWorks, ERP/PLM systems, and standard product data management workflows.
