Role Overview: The Senior VDC Specialist directs and coordinates Building Information Modeling (BIM) administration for complex construction projects. This role involves managing 3D content, providing advanced technical support to project teams, and ensuring seamless integration of VDC processes. The ideal candidate will autonomously drive productive VDC workflows while aligning owner requirements, execution plans, and scope of work to meet rigorous project standards.
Strategic & Technical Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive models and documents required to execute project scopes in alignment with VDC leadership and internal clients.
  • Assemble 3D content modeled by external partners and proactively generate any necessary missing components.
  • Analyze construction documents and project models meticulously to identify omissions, detect clashes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish and configure project-specific VDC technology to support complex delivery strategies.
  • Incorporate design updates seamlessly into project models and support field operations with self-perform model management and layout.
  • Execute and maintain highly productive BIM processes while training cross-functional teams on the optimal utilization of BIM tools.
  • Manage project documentation efficiently, including constraint logs, meeting agendas, and the RFI process for BIM-related items.
  • Communicate project constraints proactively to mitigate impacts and ensure seamless execution.
  • Cultivate collaborative, solutions-driven relationships with subcontractors, external partners, and internal project teams.
Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams through VDC processes and apply Lean construction methodologies.
  • Exceptional capability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex architectural plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proven capacity to solve complex technical problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to conduct impactful presentations.
  • Advanced proficiency in BIM technologies and their application within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in Autodesk solutions (Construction Cloud, BIM 360 Glue, Design Collaboration, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage).
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Trimble Sketch-Up, Trimble Tekla Structures, and Trimble Field Layout Solutions.
  • Familiarity with laser scanning processes and enterprise mobile solutions.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or a related industry.
  • A minimum of 2 years of dedicated BIM-related experience.
  • Required core competencies include Clash Detection, VDC/BIM Coordination, Bluebeam, and the Autodesk suite.
