Senior Vice President (SVP) Finance – Insurance & Investments
About the Role
The Senior Vice President (SVP) Finance is a senior executive responsible for leading financial strategy, performance management, planning, reporting, controls, and commercial finance across the Group's insurance, investment, asset management, and related financial services businesses.
The SVP Finance will serve as a key strategic partner to the Group CFO, CEO, Board, and business-unit leadership, driving financial discipline, profitability, capital efficiency, governance, and sustainable growth across a complex and regulated organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Group/business-unit financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
Oversee financial reporting, management accounts, financial analysis, and executive reporting.
Drive FP&A and commercial finance, translating financial data into strategic business decisions.
Monitor revenue, profitability, expenses, margins, cash flow, and return on capital across the portfolio.
Provide financial leadership across insurance operations, including premium income, claims, reserves, reinsurance, underwriting performance, and profitability.
Oversee financial aspects of investment and asset management operations, including portfolio reporting, valuation, investment income, expenses, and performance analysis.
Support capital planning, solvency, liquidity, balance-sheet optimization, and capital allocation.
Lead treasury planning and monitor liquidity, funding requirements, and cash management.
Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, policies, processes, and risk-management frameworks.
Ensure timely and accurate statutory, regulatory, and management reporting.
Partner with Risk, Compliance, Actuarial, Investment, Treasury, Audit, and Legal functions on financial and regulatory matters.
Provide financial due diligence, modelling, valuation, and strategic analysis for M&A, JVs, acquisitions, investments, and expansion initiatives.
Identify and execute opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
Lead finance transformation, automation, ERP implementation, analytics, and management-information initiatives.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with auditors, regulators, investors, lenders, and other external stakeholders.
Lead, coach, and develop senior finance professionals and build a high-performing finance organization.
Support the Group CFO and CEO with Board presentations, strategic reviews, capital decisions, and long-term value creation.

Candidate Profile
15–20+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably in insurance, investment management, asset management, banking, reinsurance, pensions, or broader financial services.
Significant experience in senior or enterprise-level finance leadership within a complex or multi-entity organization.
Previous experience as SVP Finance, Senior Vice President Finance, Finance Director, Group Finance Director, Deputy CFO, VP Finance, Head of Finance, or equivalent.
Strong expertise in financial strategy, FP&A, reporting, accounting, capital management, treasury, and financial controls.
Strong understanding of insurance and/or investment finance, including regulatory and statutory requirements.
Demonstrated experience supporting strategic transactions, M&A, capital raising, investments, or business expansion.
Experience partnering with CEOs, CFOs, Boards, regulators, investors, and senior executives.
Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed, and high-performing finance teams.
Education & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline.
Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
Additional qualifications in insurance, investments, risk, or financial management are advantageous.
