Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer who can lead the design of customer-facing digital experiences from concept through delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building products, design systems, and UX frameworks from the ground up while collaborating across business and technology organizations.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineering teams, business stakeholders, vendors, customers, and executive leadership to create intuitive and impactful digital experiences for Toyota Financial Services customers and dealer partners.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring a strong balance of user-centered design, research, stakeholder collaboration, and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end UX design activities across customer-facing web applications and dealer portals.
  • Define and execute UX strategy for new products and digital initiatives.
  • Create user personas, customer journeys, workflows, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs from scratch.
  • Establish, maintain, and evolve design systems, component libraries, UX standards, and governance processes.
  • Conduct user research activities including stakeholder interviews, user interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry, and journey mapping.
  • Translate complex business requirements into simple, intuitive, and accessible user experiences.
  • Facilitate workshops, design reviews, ideation sessions, and stakeholder alignment meetings.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Business Analysis, Engineering, Architecture, Compliance, Operations, Marketing, and external partners to deliver successful products.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Analyze user feedback, usability metrics, and research findings to drive continuous product improvement.
  • Partner with development teams during implementation to ensure design quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to UX maturity by defining best practices, standards, templates, and repeatable design processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of professional UX Design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Design, Information Architecture, Psychology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Strong experience designing customer-facing web applications and digital platforms.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, collaboration, and design system management.
  • Demonstrated experience creating UX artifacts from scratch, including:
  • Personas
  • Customer journeys
  • Service blueprints
  • User flows
  • Information architecture
  • Wireframes
  • Interactive prototypes
  • Experience establishing design systems, governance frameworks, and UX standards.
  • Hands-on experience conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Strong understanding of design thinking methodologies and user-centered design principles.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across business and technology functions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of collaborating within Agile delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within Banking, Financial Services, Lending, Automotive Finance, or FinTech environments.
  • Experience designing dealer-facing or customer self-service digital experiences.
  • Experience with responsive and mobile-first design methodologies.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
  • Experience using:
  • Miro
  • UserTesting
  • AI-assisted design and productivity tools
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale digital transformation programs.
