Senior Rendering Engineer (UE5)

Role Overview

We are seeking Senior Rendering Engineers for a specialized UE5 strike team. This team supports a large-scale AAA open-world single-player game entering its optimization and polish phase. This role requires experienced engineers who can independently identify and resolve performance, stability, and rendering challenges on PC and console platforms with minimal ramp-up time.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, profile, and optimize Unreal Engine 5 rendering performance.
• Identify and resolve GPU, rendering, and platform-level bottlenecks.
• Debug crashes, artifacts, memory issues, and stability problems.
• Utilize tools such as RenderDoc, PIX, NVIDIA Nsight, and Unreal Insights for profiling and debugging.
• Optimize shaders, materials, rendering features, and graphics pipelines.
• Tune and improve UE5 systems, including Nanite and Lumen.
• Investigate performance issues across a broad range of PC hardware configurations and console platforms.
• Collaborate with technical artists and engineers to enhance fidelity while maintaining performance targets.
• Manage issues from discovery through implementation and validation with minimal oversight.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Senior-level experience in game development, including shipping games using Unreal Engine 5. Candidates should have a proven ability to identify and resolve rendering, GPU, engine, and platform bottlenecks.

Technical Skills: Strong expertise in Unreal Engine 5, advanced rendering optimization, and deep debugging and profiling is required. A strong understanding of shaders, materials, graphics pipelines, and GPU performance is necessary. Experience with tools like RenderDoc, PIX, NVIDIA Nsight, or Unreal Insights is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on large-scale open-world AAA games.
• Expertise optimizing Nanite and Lumen.
• Experience supporting games during late-stage optimization or polish.
• A strong background in PC performance and stability optimization.
• Multi-platform console and PC experience.
• Experience working in small strike teams or high-impact optimization groups.
