The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Senior Travel & Expense Operations Specialist for a hybrid opportunity with a prestigious higher education institution in Boston, MA.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role supporting a complex Travel & Expense (T&E) operation serving approximately 15,000 users and managing over $45 million in annual travel and expense activity. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned SAP Concur expert who can independently manage system administration, user support, compliance reporting, and day-to-day T&E operations with minimal ramp-up time.

This position offers the potential to convert to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities SAP Concur Administration
  • Serve as the primary SAP Concur Administrator for a large enterprise environment
  • Configure and maintain expense types, workflows, approval routing, audit rules, and system settings
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, delegate assignments, and role administration
  • Support and maintain Concur integrations with Workday Finance and other enterprise systems
  • Troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions to improve performance and user experience
Travel & Expense Operations
  • Manage daily Travel & Expense operations and ensure compliance with organizational policies
  • Monitor travel booking activity, expense reporting, and policy adherence
  • Administer pre-trip approval processes and travel compliance workflows
  • Produce operational and compliance reports, including:
    • Outstanding expense transactions
    • Policy exception reporting
    • Expense cycle times
    • Cardholder delinquency metrics
Financial Operations & Settlement Processing
  • Execute daily settlement and payment processes
  • Research and resolve payment failures and banking issues
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable, banking partners, and employees to resolve payment concerns
  • Support manual payment processes as required
Customer Support & Service Management
  • Manage escalated ServiceNow and support tickets requiring system-level expertise
  • Maintain knowledge articles, service catalog content, and support documentation
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to employees, travelers, and stakeholders across the organization
  • Serve as a trusted resource for travel and expense-related inquiries
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Travel & Expense Operations, Financial Operations, or a related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on SAP Concur Administration experience
  • Experience with:
    • System configuration
    • Workflow design
    • Audit rules
    • Reporting and analytics
    • User administration
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a complex environment
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday Finance
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Prior experience supporting large enterprise or higher education environments
  • Experience with travel management companies (TMCs)
  • Background in compliance, audit support, or internal controls
  • Experience in contract or interim Travel & Expense leadership roles
