    Description

    What You'll Do:

    • Lead and manage transportation design projects in compliance with SCDOT, FHWA, and applicable regulatory standards
    • Oversee the preparation of preliminary engineering plans, right-of-way (ROW) plans, and final construction documents
    • Coordinate cross-functional project activities including surveying, traffic engineering, drainage/hydraulics, utilities, and environmental compliance
    • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and progress reporting to ensure successful and timely delivery
    • Act as the primary point of contact for DOTs, counties, municipalities, and other key stakeholders
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to engineering staff and project teams
    • Review and approve design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and QA/QC documentation
    • Support business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and contract negotiations
    • Assist with construction phase services such as responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and coordinating field activities

    What You'll Bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, or Florida, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in roadway, bridge, and transportation design and project management
    • Demonstrated success managing DOT, county, and/or municipal transportation projects from concept through PS&E
    • Strong knowledge of DOT design manuals, AASHTO guidelines, MUTCD standards, and project delivery methodologies
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
