Senior Transportation Engineer – Traffic & ITS

Location: Santa Ana, CA, USA (On-site) Salary Range: $118,000 – $140,000 Sign-On Bonus Available

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Transportation Engineer to join a team of professionals committed to delivering smart, data-driven transportation solutions. This role involves working closely with local and regional agencies to lead and support a variety of traffic engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is passionate about improving mobility, safety, and infrastructure across communities by applying innovative transportation technologies.

• Lead or support a wide range of projects including traffic signal operations, signal timing, and ITS design, implementation, and integration.
  

• Collaborate directly with internal senior management and agency clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  

• Participate in local and regional business development initiatives to support growth.
  

• Foster strong client relationships and promote strategic thinking to ensure high client retention.
  

• Mentor junior staff and contribute to training and professional development efforts.
  

• Assist in defining client needs and develop tailored proposals and delivery plans.
  

• Support coordination meetings and consult regularly with engineering and planning colleagues.
  

  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
  

• A PE (Professional Engineer), PTOE (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer), or IMSA certification is
  

  preferred.
  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering or a related field.
  

• Minimum of 3 years managing projects and mentoring junior staff for public agency clients.
  

• Proficiency in tools such as Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
  

• Strong MS Office skills.
