Senior Traffic Project Manager

Provide oversight and technical direction for complex traffic engineering projects, including traffic impact studies, traffic signaldesign,trafficoperationsanalyses,IntelligentTransportationSystems(ITS),transportationsafetystudies,roadwayillumination,signingandpavementmarkings,andmaintenanceoftraffic(MOT)designacrossallphasesofprojectdelivery. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, including traffic impact analyses, traffic signal design, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), roadway illumination, signing and pavement markings,maintenanceoftraffic(MOT)plans,andthepreparationofPlans,Specifications,andEstimates(PS&E),whileensuringalignmentwithclientobjectives,regulatoryrequirements,andbudgetandschedulecommitments.

What You'll Do:

:

• Leaddevelopmentofprojectscopes,schedules,andfeeestimates,ensuringalignmentwithclientobjectives,regulatoryrequirements,contractobligations,andprofitabilitytargets.
• Provide oversight and technical direction for complex traffic engineering projects, including traffic impact studies, traffic signaldesign,trafficoperationsanalyses,IntelligentTransportationSystems(ITS),transportationsafetystudies,roadwayillumination,signingandpavementmarkings,andmaintenanceoftraffic(MOT)designacrossallphasesofprojectdelivery.
• Managemultidisciplinaryteams,coordinatingengineers,planners,designers,andsubconsultantstodeliverhigh-qualitytrafficstudies,operationalanalyses,andPS&Epackagesonscheduleandwithinbudget.
• Serveastheprimarypointofcontactforclients,fosteringstrongrelationshipsandensuringclear,consistentcommunicationthroughouttheprojectlifecycle.
• Drivebusinessdevelopmentefforts,includingpursuitstrategy,proposalpreparation,andinterviewparticipationtosecurenewtrafficengineering,transportationplanning,andITSprojects.
• Collaboratewithclientaccountmanagersandleadershiptoidentifygrowthopportunities,strengthenstrategicpartnerships,positionthefirmcompetitively,andsuccessfullywinprojectpursuits.
• Overseeprojectfinancialperformance,includingbudgetmanagement,forecasting,resourceplanning,andriskmitigationtoensuresuccessfulprojectoutcomes.
• Ensurecompliancewithapplicabledesignstandardsandregulatoryrequirements,includingTxDOT,MUTCD,AASHTO,FHWA,andlocalagencycriteria,aswellasqualityassuranceandqualitycontrolprotocols.
• Proactivelyidentifytechnical,operational,stakeholder,andprojectdeliveryrisksanddevelopmitigationstrategiestomaintainschedule,budget,andtechnicalexcellence.
• Mentoranddevelopjuniorstaff,providingleadership,technicalguidance,andtrainingintrafficengineering,transportationoperations,ITStechnologies,trafficmodelingsoftware,andprojectdeliverybestpracticestobuildahigh-performingtrafficengineeringteam.

 

What You'll Need:

:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 15+ years of transportation engineering experience, and 5+ years of project management experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams on large-scale roadway or highway projects.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while meeting client expectations and quality standards.
• Established client relationships and a history of contributing to or winning new work with DOT, municipal, or regional agencies.
• Experience supporting or leading business development efforts, including proposal preparation, pursuit strategy, and client presentations/interviews.
• Ability to identify opportunities, develop capture strategies, and collaborate with leadership to expand market presence.
