Senior Testing Consultant
GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Salem, OR looking to add a Senior Testing Consultant to their team. The role is a CONTRACT position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts from planning through production readiness.
- Develop testing strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
- Review business requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria to ensure complete and testable requirements.
- Coordinate manual UAT execution while ensuring comprehensive validation of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Lead regression, integration, exploratory, accessibility, performance, and security testing efforts.
- Manage defect lifecycle activities including defect documentation, triage, prioritization, retesting, and validation.
- Assess testing risks, identify coverage gaps, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Define testing approach, quality gates, entry/exit criteria, and release readiness standards.
- Develop testing metrics, dashboards, status reports, and executive summaries for project stakeholders.
- Support test data preparation, environment readiness, and release planning activities.
- Partner with business users, product owners, developers, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Mentor business testers and QA team members while promoting testing best practices and continuous process improvement.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with automation engineers to identify automation opportunities and improve regression testing coverage.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience leading Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for complex enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and quality assurance best practices.
- Experience developing enterprise test strategies, test plans, Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs), and release readiness documentation.
- Experience designing and executing complex functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of defect management, risk-based testing, quality gates, and release management.
- Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, Client ALM, or similar test management and defect tracking tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Experience leading cross-functional testing efforts with minimal supervision.
