Scope of Work

  • Serve as a Senior Testing Consultant and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for testing strategy, execution, defect management, and quality assurance.
  • Provide advanced testing support and guidance to Agile and traditional project teams.
  • Design, execute, and validate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Work closely with business users to ensure systems meet functional, technical, and business requirements.
  • Drive testing process improvements and promote quality best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze:
    • Business requirements
    • User stories
    • Process flows
    • Acceptance criteria
  • Maintain and update the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Test plans
    • Test cases
    • Test scenarios
    • Test suites
    • Test documentation
  • Define:
    • Testing approach
    • Entry and exit criteria
    • Quality gates
    • Release-level testing strategies
  • Execute manual User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Validate both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Participate in test case review sessions and identify automation candidates.
  • Perform:
    • Regression testing
    • Exploratory testing
    • Bug hunts
    • Ad-hoc validation
  • Log, track, and retest defects with detailed reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
  • Conduct integration testing across systems, APIs, services, and interfaces.
  • Support or execute:
    • Performance testing
    • Load testing
    • Security testing
    • Accessibility testing
  • Prepare and manage UAT test data.
  • Validate testing readiness, including:
    • Requirements
    • Test environments
    • Test data
    • Testing tools
  • Participate in defect triage sessions.
  • Assess defect:
    • Priority
    • Severity
    • Business impact
  • Provide testing guidance and mentoring to business SMEs and testers.
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Testing best practices
    • Templates
    • Documentation
    • Training materials
  • Produce:
    • Daily status reports
    • Weekly test summaries
    • Test metrics
    • Progress reports
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including:
    • Sprint Planning
    • Backlog Refinement
    • Daily Stand-ups
    • Sprint Reviews
    • Retrospectives
  • Support release readiness assessments and Go/No-Go recommendations.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to identify and expand automation coverage.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, documentation, tools, and team collaboration.
  • Assess test coverage across:
    • Business requirements
    • Integrations
    • Business workflows
    • Data validation
    • User roles
    • Edge cases
  • Recommend testing scope adjustments based on project risks, timelines, and release objectives.
  • Monitor:
    • Defect trends
    • Aging defects
    • Recurring issues
    • Root cause analysis
  • Identify and escalate environment issues affecting testing or release timelines.
  • Define test data requirements and coordinate data setup, masking, and refresh activities.
  • Support sprint, release, and project planning by providing QA/UAT estimates and testing assumptions.
  • Participate in or lead release readiness discussions.
  • Escalate quality risks, blockers, and unresolved issues with actionable recommendations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of:
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
    • Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience designing and executing complex test scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Azure DevOps
    • Jira
    • Test management tools
    • Defect tracking tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to identify project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Experience leading QA/UAT activities for large, cross-functional projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in government or other highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as:
    • Selenium
    • Playwright
    • Robot Framework
  • Experience preparing and managing complex test data.
  • Background in Business Analysis or broader Quality Assurance disciplines beyond UAT.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Information Technology
    • Related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in QA, UAT, Software Testing, or related technical disciplines.
  • Proven experience providing senior-level testing consulting and technical leadership.
