Job Description

We are seeking a Teradata Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Teradata administration, automation with Unix/Linux scripting, and mainframe interfaces and a proven ability to design, implement, and support scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise data environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Application DBA functions including DDL creation, SQL scripting, problem research, change deployments, and on-call rotation support.
  • Design, develop, implement, document, and support automated DBA processes using Teradata and Unix/Linux scripting.
  • Support multiple Teradata environments including development/UAT, disaster recovery, and enterprise warehouse production.
  • Implement and administer access policies aligned with corporate standards.
  • Support mainframe administrative functions including archive processing and job scheduling.
  • Manage and consult on storage management, archive, restore, backup, and disaster recovery practices.
  • Collaborate with application project teams to implement database changes for project initiatives and BAU work.
  • Complete assigned training and attend required meetings to stay current on team processes and tools.
  • Provide weekly written status reports to the manager and operate independently with minimal supervision.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Teradata DBA experience, including experience with Teradata V17.20 or higher.
  • Advanced knowledge of Teradata RDBMS at physical and logical levels.
  • Proficiency with Teradata tools: Teradata Studio, TDWM, BTEQ, ARCMAIN, FASTLOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP, TPT, DBQL, PDCR.
  • Working knowledge of Viewpoint, Teradata Data Mover, and Teradata BAR technology.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux scripting (KSH, BASH, PERL).
  • Working knowledge of mainframe interfaces and execution: TDP, JCL, TSO, ISPF, FICON, NDM.
  • Familiarity with Teradata systems setup, GDO, DBSControl, and Multitool.
  • Working knowledge of QueryGrid, DSA, TeraServer, NPARC, and TASM.
  • Working knowledge of job schedulers such as CA-7 and AutoSys.
  • Experience with replication technologies, including GoldenGate.
  • Familiarity with REXX scripting.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop and cloud concepts and technologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with project and change management and automation tools such as Agile, Remedy, and Ansible.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse and disaster recovery environments.
