Senior Tendering Manager
Summary: Expand the company business with current and new customers through increased sales within the Everllence product and portfolio. Directs and coordinates activities related to this business in close cooperation with all product groups.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Define and plan a strategy for the region involved together with the Sales Managers.
- Identify, build-up relationships and develop business partners inside the region for successful participation in RFQ's.
- Identify projects, build up relationships and develop the power projects with customers inside the region.
- Lead and execute the complete bidding process for highly complex turnkey power plants using the products from Everllence.
- Independent leadership of the bid project team throughout the whole bid process
- Participate in the technical contract negotiations with the customer.
- Analyze and clarify the customer's tender documents and specifications.
- Participates in the development of the winning bid strategy for the preparation of a competitive offer by working closely with the Sales Manager, as well as the technical and commercial departments in Augsburg, including Purchasing.
- Prepare a winning offer with all necessary documents.
- Evaluate the customers need for power supply and define the most competitive solution.
- Calculate costs for the complete scope of supply and services of the bid, including contribution margin, in accordance with Everllence guidelines.
- Active participation in the LPA process to analyze and evaluate risks.
- Present the technical solution, products and the plant concept to the customer.
- Carry out training and undertake the role of a mentor for new tendering managers.
Required Education: Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent scientific discipline.
Required Experience: Minimum of 10 years of related experience as a Tendering Manager, Business Development preferably in the Business of power plants working for a general contractor or main equipment supplier.
Excellent market knowledge in the energy / power generation sector.
Proven track record of successfully closed bids / contracts > 100 M USD.
Desired Experience: Experience in negotiating technical and commercial agreement terms.
Required 3rd party Certifications/Qualifications: Professional Engineer with active certification is highly desired.
Other skills:
- Fundamental knowledge of plant construction, particularly in the power plant industry, and in large diesel engines, as well as in commercial and legal issues.
- Established network to Owners Engineers and Consultants inside the US power sector
- Experience in leading teams, also remote, with a responsible and collaborative working style.
- Extraordinary communication skills inside and outside the Everllence organisation
- Extensive experience in project management and training of colleagues.
- Business Spanish is desired and a second foreign language is an advantage.
- Competent use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Also to work with and understand other cultures.
Physical Requirements:
- The majority of the time this position requires sitting in one place for several hours working with a personal computer.
- Domestic and foreign travel required.
