Senior Technician (T3) - Test Engineering | Burnsville, MN | 1st Shift | Onsite
About the Role
Join our innovative Sensors Test Engineering team in Burnsville, MN, as a Senior Technician (T3) and play a pivotal role in supporting both commercial and defense sensor product lines. You''ll lead the assembly and troubleshooting of advanced test solutions, collaborating closely with engineers and technicians in a dynamic, growth-focused environment. This is a first-shift, onsite position offering competitive pay and exposure to a wide variety of test system technologies throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and build test hardware (cables, valve boxes, control/interface boxes) per detailed engineering drawings
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical equipment issues on the production line quickly and effectively
- Review, update, and provide markups for test system designs, schematics, BOMs, and related documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams-engineers, operators, and technicians-to deliver high-quality test solutions
- Mentor and coach technical support staff to ensure best practices and continuous improvement
Required Skills and Experience
- Associate's degree or other 2-year technical training with at least 4 years relevant hands-on experience
- Strong background in assembling electrical and mechanical test systems
- Proficiency in troubleshooting test equipment and production line support
- Ability to interpret and update engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience building complex cable assemblies and test boxes for aviation/defense (military spec, AS9100)
- Skilled in reviewing/editing schematics and wire lists; knowledge of Minnesota State Electrical codes
- Advanced use of test tools, soldering, and crimping (hand, electric, pneumatic)
- Demonstrated mentorship and leadership abilities
