Overview

Copilot Notebooks is evolving into a new agentic workspace where people bring together their goals, context, and knowledge, then collaborate with AI to move work forward. We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to define and deliver this next generation of Notebooks, creating an experience that is grounded, transparent, controllable, and deeply integrated into the flow of work.

In this role, you will own the operating system for complex Copilot Notebooks workstreams: defining release gates, driving cross-functional execution, managing dependencies across Office Product Group (OPG) partner teams, ensuring eval and launch readiness, and converting ambiguous product bets into measurable, shippable outcomes across different deployment rings.

Responsibilities

  • Drive highly impactful cross-organization initiatives around end to end experiences spanning multiple teams across OPG
  • Identifies opportunities to improve business outcomes through data modernization, reporting innovation, process simplification, and platform evolution.
  • Own end-to-end execution for high-risk Notebooks workstreams across Product, Engineering, Applied Science, Data Science, Design, Security, Privacy, Responsible AI, and Launch.
  • Convert ambiguous discussion into crisp decisions, owners, and follow-through.
  • Incorporates customer, stakeholder, and business insights to influence investments, priorities, and long-term strategy.
  • Leads complex, cross-organizational programs with multiple dependencies, stakeholders, and implementation teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-org programs with ambiguous ownership and high dependency load.
  • Experience running release readiness, launch planning, shiprooms, bug bashes, or operational reviews.
  • Experience with evals, model quality, telemetry, experimentation, safety/RAI, or reliability gates.
  • A passion for reimagining how people think, create, organize knowledge, and accomplish meaningful work with AI.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 or comparable enterprise productivity platforms, including document, storage, search, and collaboration ecosystems is a plus.
  • With minimal guidance, utilizes direction and strategy from leadership to execute plans that shift current priorities to new organizational initiatives and objectives, and enabling others to adapt to changing business needs.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
