Overview
Passion for the technical documentation and execution of projects
Ability to lead the technical execution of complicated institutional projects
Strong technical detailing, documentation and creative problem solving skills
Ability to translate interior and exterior design concepts into construction documents
Understanding of overall building system performance requirements
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Ability to lead and mentor others in the technical execution of projects
Experience and knowledge in the following:
Building codes and agency requirements (OSHPD, DSA, etc.)
Developing project specifications
Large variety of interior and exterior materials and systems
Building systems and coordination with consultants
Working with contractors/trades in collaborative delivery
Development and QA/QC of contract documentation (drawings and specifications)
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
Minimum of 12 years’ experience within the design and construction industry
Prior Higher Education, Science & Technology and institutional project experience strongly preferred
Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Architecture required
Proficiency in Revit/BIM production required
Professional license within the State of California strongly preferred
LEED certification preferred
