Job Title: Senior Tax Manager, Partner Track
Location: Westlake Village, CA
The opportunity
We're planning for the firm's next generation of leadership, and this role is built to step into it. You'll start as Senior Tax Manager, run the tax practice day to day, and take on a growing share of the firm's client relationships. The role is about leadership and growth: building the team, expanding the client base, and moving into partnership.
What you'll do
- Run the tax practice day to day: workflow, deadlines, quality and final review of complex returns
- Lead and develop the team: delegate, review and coach staff
- Own key client relationships and take on more over time
- Work with the partners and AFG on priorities, planning and growing the client base
- Help modernize how the firm works, from getting the most out of Karbon to bringing in AI tools
What you'll bring
- Active CPA license
- 10+ years of public accounting tax experience, ideally at a midsize or regional firm
- Senior-level review skills across individual and business returns, ideally in Lacerte
- A track record of leading teams and developing staff
- Confidence owning client relationships and growing them
- Comfort with new technology and better ways of working
- The ambition to step into firm leadership and, in time, partnership
