Senior Tax Manager - Real Estate

Location: Portland, OR

Overview

A large, fast-growing national CPA and advisory firm is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for its real estate practice in Portland. You will bring deep tax knowledge and extensive client-facing experience, building lasting relationships with middle-market and large clients.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing tax planning, compliance and consulting services
• Stay current on industry trends, tax laws and regulations to deliver forward-looking tax strategies
• Mentor and develop junior team members and foster a culture of learning and collaboration

Qualifications

• CPA or other relevant credential required
• Recent public accounting experience
• 10+ years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting with a focus on real estate
• Deep knowledge of partnership taxation and real estate ownership structures
• Experience with investment partnerships and real estate funds, including complex allocations, waterfalls and tiered ownership
• Familiarity with 1031 exchanges, cost segregation and depreciation planning, passive activity rules, and multistate and property tax compliance
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation preferred
