Overview

A growing, advisory-focused CPA firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager in Newark, New Jersey to serve as a key leader within the firm. You will oversee tax compliance and planning engagements, work directly with business owners and help shape the future direction of the tax practice. Hybrid work environment; a signing bonus is offered.

Responsibilities

• Review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, corporation, trust and estate tax returns
• Develop and implement proactive tax planning strategies
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and high-net-worth individuals
• Lead client meetings and communicate tax strategies clearly
• Mentor, develop and coach staff accountants and seniors
• Improve efficiency through technology, automation and process improvement
• Assist with workflow management, scheduling and quality control

Qualifications

• CPA license required
• 7+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong background in business and individual taxation
• Experience reviewing complex returns and tax planning engagements
• Proven client relationship management and staff development experience
• Experience with tax technology and workflow systems preferred; advisory mindset strongly preferred
