Overview

A regional tax, assurance and consulting firm is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for its high net worth tax practice in Columbia, South Carolina. This role consults on complex gifting and estate planning and oversees tax preparation for high net worth individuals, related family partnerships and trusts, along with business development, team leadership, technical review and year-round consulting. It is viewed as a future leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax, gift and estate planning and compliance services for individuals and related trusts
• Identify issues and recommend creative solutions to complex client matters
• Manage client engagements and build client relationships as a trusted advisor
• Grow a business network of referral sources and prospective clients and meet business development goals
• Recruit, train, develop, motivate and review the work of team members
• Foster a collaborative, accountable team environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or law; master's in tax or LL.M. preferred
• 7+ years of recent public accounting experience with individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates, including managing multiple engagements
• CPA required
• Leadership and project/team management skills
• Excellent communication and networking skills
• Experience with tax software and technology
