Overview

A growth-oriented accounting, tax and consulting firm serving entrepreneurial clients is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for its Carmel, Indiana tax practice. This high-impact leadership role oversees client relationships and tax engagements, including review of complex business and individual returns, and plays an active role in the strategic direction and growth of the local tax practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of tax compliance, planning and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of business and individual clients
• Review complex federal, state and local business and individual income tax returns and workpapers
• Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding client objectives and recommending relevant service solutions
• Manage multiple engagements, including planning, staffing, budgets, timelines, deliverables and profitability
• Support practice growth through business development, networking, proposals and new service opportunities
• Supervise, coach, train, evaluate and mentor managers, seniors and staff accountants
• Stay current on tax law changes, industry developments and professional standards

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's in Taxation or Accounting preferred
• 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
• Experience managing complex business and individual tax engagements
• Strong business development experience and a record of building lasting client relationships
• Demonstrated success supervising, developing and retaining professional staff
• Excellent analytical, technical, project management and communication skills
