Senior Tax Manager - Asheville, NC

The Senior Tax Manager will lead tax planning and advisory initiatives for a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses while serving as a trusted resource for both clients and internal advisory teams.

Description

• Manage complex tax planning and consulting engagements for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and business entities.
• Review and oversee the preparation of individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and gift tax returns.
• Develop proactive tax strategies focused on wealth preservation, business succession, estate planning, and tax efficiency.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client tax matters and provide strategic guidance throughout the year.
• Collaborate with financial advisors and other professionals to deliver integrated planning solutions.
• Research complex federal, state, and local tax issues and communicate recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop junior tax professionals while helping to establish best practices across the team.
• Support business development efforts through client relationship management and participation in networking initiatives.
• Monitor tax law changes and assess their impact on clients' planning strategies.

Profile

A successful Senior Tax Manager should have:

• CPA required; MST or advanced tax degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant exposure to high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
• Public accounting, family office, wealth management, or private client tax experience strongly preferred.
• Strong technical expertise in federal and state taxation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client relationships and complex engagements simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with a consultative mindset.
• Experience mentoring staff and contributing to team development.
• Proficiency with leading tax preparation and research software platforms.
