The Senior Tax Associate will support the tax compliance, reporting, and planning functions of a growing real estate organization, assisting with partnership tax filings, investor reporting, and various tax-related projects across a diverse portfolio of affordable housing investments.

Description

  • Assist with the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to support annual compliance processes.
  • Prepare and analyze partnership tax workpapers and supporting schedules.
  • Support the preparation and review of Schedule K-1s and investor reporting requirements.
  • Assist with tax provision calculations and related reporting activities.
  • Research tax regulations and evaluate the impact of tax law changes on company operations.
  • Maintain tax records, notices, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, and asset management teams on tax-related matters.
  • Assist with audits, tax examinations, and responses to taxing authorities.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Profile

A successful Senior Tax Associate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-5+ years of tax experience, preferably within public accounting, real estate, private equity, or partnership taxation.
  • Understanding of federal and state tax compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with partnership tax concepts and Schedule K-1 reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • CPA designation or CPA-track candidates are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
