Senior Tax Associate

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a nationally recognized public accounting firm to identify a Senior Tax Associate for its Fort Worth office. This is a hybrid opportunity supporting complex tax engagements for alternative investment management and private equity clients.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience with a large public accounting firm and a strong foundation in tax compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their technical expertise, work closely with experienced leadership, and gain exposure to sophisticated clients. Candidates do not need prior alternative investment management experience, as specialized training will be provided.

Required:

• 3+ years of tax experience within a large public accounting firm; high-performing Staff Tax Associates ready for promotion may be considered
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Experience preparing or reviewing federal and multi-state tax returns
• Strong technical tax knowledge, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple engagements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred:

• Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
• CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA eligibility/licensure
• Experience with partnerships, flow-through entities, or complex business tax returns
• Exposure to private equity, alternative investments, or real estate-related tax engagements
• Experience reviewing staff work or mentoring junior tax professionals
