About the Role

The Senior Tax Accountant will handle complex tax work, manage client relationships, and operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced professional environment. This is a full-time, on-site role for an experienced public accounting professional who can prepare and review returns, identify planning opportunities, and deliver accurate client service.

Responsibilities

Tax Preparation & Review

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, including individual, partnership, and S-corporation returns.

• Manage tax engagements and help ensure timely, accurate filings.

• Identify tax planning opportunities and provide practical recommendations to clients.

Client Service & Advisory

• Communicate with clients regarding tax matters, planning needs, document requests, and tax notices.

• Research tax issues, interpret regulations, and support client-specific recommendations.

Accounting Support & Documentation

• Perform bookkeeping and accounting support as needed.

• Maintain organized workpapers, documentation, and client files.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• 10+ years of public accounting experience.

• Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.

• Knowledge of federal and California tax law.

• Proficiency with tax software, Excel, and related accounting tools.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and client-service skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• CPA license preferred.

• Experience supporting high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.

• Bookkeeping and accounting support experience.

Pay range and compensation package

Basic salary is around $90-$120K plus medical, dental and life insurance and an annual bonus which is based on tax season overtime. This is a full-time, on-site role in Thousand Oaks, CA, within a collaborative and professional environment with growth opportunities.
