Senior Tax Accountant

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
- Conduct year-round tax planning and advisory services for a diverse client base
- Research complex tax issues and communicate findings to clients in a clear, actionable manner
- Collaborate with clients to gather documentation, resolve questions, and ensure timely filings
- Support and guide junior staff through mentorship and review of their work
- Stay current on changes in tax regulations and apply them as needed
- Assist with IRS and state audits or notices, as necessary
Qualifications
- CPA license preferred or in progress
- 5+ years of public accounting experience, with a strong focus on tax compliance and planning
- Solid knowledge of federal and New Jersey tax laws
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake) and cloud-based tools like QuickBooks
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
